Whee!
So the new year is starting out great for me. Got a job and I start in February. Right now I’m looking for an apartment in Dublin, where I will be living and working.
I haven’t decided on goals for this year yet. I’ll have a look later when I’m settled in Dublin. I should be getting a call from one of the property agents today and if necessary I’ll be taking a quick trip to Dublin for a look at a few places.
Woohoo!
Yesterday I accepted a job offer from Facebook in Ireland for a role in their Online Sales department. I’ll start on February 8th and I’m planning on moving a few days earlier to get settled in.
This means that I can now check step two from my 2009 goals:
1. Graduate
2. Find job
3. Get apartment
That leaves the apartment, which I’ll get in Dublin in February. So I still count that as a win.
The more dull part will begin now and that’s to make budgets and plan for my stay there until I get my first paycheck.
I’m not going to apologize for not posting enough and not going to promise that I’ll post more often.
Neither will do any good! But anyway, here’s an update.
My job searching is still going on; there are a lot of interesting opportunities out there. I am looking for more job opportunities abroad now and I’m hoping to find something in China or South East Asia, say Singapore or Malaysia.
I like to stay active so not having a job at the moment is keeping me very very bored. ParsLibris and The MMO Gamer are two projects that are helping to keep me occupied. We have launched ParsLibris, sort of a stealth launch and will be focusing on bringing in more users and books while I works sales to get us some customers.
On The MMO Gamer, things are going well but still hoping for a faster growth. The podcast project is helping; we’re getting great shows and awesome guests on the show. Happy times!
Enough babbling from me, now back to job hunting.
Summer is almost over. My jobhunting continues though. Got a couple of interviews, nothing major. Still hoping for a break into PR. But we’ll see.
I’ve been to a wedding and to Venice this summer and here are the picture to prove it:

Hope you like them.
As you can see, I have a new blog design. I like to shake things up every now and then. ;P I’ll be poking around with the design and the site a bit, maybe integrate with Twitter and Facebook.
In other news, c.r.a. group has launched its first site; ParsLibris.se. It’s a Swedish booksharing community and its currently in beta testing. If you can read Swedish, go ahead and register and send me some feedback.
The MMO Gamer is doing well and has just started a podcast, Working As Intended. Havign fun with Jeffrey and Steve on that on. Hopefully it’ll help in bringing in some revenue as well.
YAY! So this post is a little late, but I don’t care! The final edited version of my master’s thesis has been handed in. All assignments are finished. I am finished with uni! All I have to do now is to wait for my grades to show up in the system and I can get my degree officially!
So I’m done with 1 of the 3 things I want to finish this year:
1. Graduate
2. Find job
3. Get appartment
The jobfinding might prove a challenge, but I’ll manage. My backup plan is to start learning Chinese if I can’t find a job by August. I want to learn more languages and from a career perspective, Chinese has a lot of potential. And obviously I’d try to learn Chinese while IN China.
Over at c.r.a. group we’re almost finished with our first project. We will be hitting beta at the end of this month (we’ve been saying that for a year now, but this time it’s really happening!)
And The MMO Gamer is chugging along just fine. I’d like to expand the site more, get better advertising and start the podcast project as well. Hoping to get some of that done this summer.
